			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve been asked if I can make a customer a traditional style of Persian knife. The tricky bit is that it is T-shaped in cross section.

			<description><![CDATA[ Here&#39;s my spearhead for the arrowhead in the hat trade.

I hand forged this unplugged out of 5160 from the last of my &#39;57 Dodge leaf spring stash.

It measures 11 3/4 inches long overall. The blade is 6 3/4 inches long from shoulders to tip and it&#39;s a little under 2 inches wide at the widest spot
across. I stamped my name on the tang because I was feeling Japanesy. I thought for a long time on how to finish the tang/ricasso/shoulders area. I decided to

First, initially you pre-curved the blade to prepare for the steel moving during the forging of the edge.  I got that part.  Then there came a time when
forging the edge moved the steel to the point that the back straightened out as expected.  In the next scene the blade obviously came out of the forge and was

I&#39;m a retired game warden.  I&#39;ve always enjoyed edged weapons.  I&#39;ve had plenty of opportunity to use them from when I was a kid, then during my
years in the military, and then for 30 years as a game warden.  I wanted to make my own from an early age but life just seemed to get in the way.  Not any
more!  In retirement I&#39;ve taken up wildlife photography and do enjoy that every chance I get but bladesmithing has recently gotten into my blood.

There are lots of these for sale on eBay cheap so if this works maybe it can be something we can recommend to beginners in the future for small blades and
spears and arrowheads. The bellows I bought was a very old one and needed so repairs. There are lots of them on eBay that are brand new but some of the older
