My forge was some large rocks I arranged into a "C" shape with the open part facing SW where most of the wind blows from. I waited for a good breeze
to come around and started a fire. My house and shop are at the peak of my cone shaped property so I get more wind then I would like. within an hour I had a
very hot bed of coals and I started forging. My anvil was an 80 Lbs block of tool steel I used as my first anvil. It was set up on two construction bricks.
I needed to use my fullering swage so I filled a coffee can up with ash and stuck the hot arrow head into it. Then I ran to the shop and worked it and then
took it back out to the fire. My fuel was chunks of alder, misc wood chips from where I split my fire wood and several pounds of coal.
It worked and I did not have to build any type of bellows. But I have no intentions of using it again unless the time comes when propane and electricity are
no longer available.
